Tata Nexon Gets Level 2 ADAS and New Red Dark Edition Launched

The Tata Nexon has just received a major technological and design upgrade, reinforcing its position as one of India’s most popular compact SUVs. Tata Motors has introduced Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) across select variants and launched a striking new Red Dark Edition, combining bold aesthetics with enhanced safety and driving confidence.

This update places the Nexon ahead of many rivals in its segment, offering semi-autonomous driving features typically seen in premium vehicles. With ADAS now available, the Nexon aims to elevate safety standards in the ₹8–12 lakh SUV market.

Level 2 ADAS: What’s New?

The updated Tata Nexon now features Level 2 ADAS on top-end XZ+ variants, powered by Bosch’s sensing technology. This includes:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC): Automatically adjusts speed based on traffic ahead.
  • Forward Collision Warning (FCW): Alerts the driver of potential front-end collisions.
  • Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB): Applies brakes automatically if a collision is imminent.
  • Lane Departure Warning (LDW): Warns if the vehicle drifts out of its lane without signaling.
  • Intelligent Headlamp Control: Automatically switches between high and low beams.

These features work together to reduce driver fatigue on highways and improve safety in city traffic, making the Nexon one of the safest cars in its class.

Red Dark Edition: Bold Looks, Limited Appeal

Tata has also launched the Nexon Red Dark Edition, a visually distinct variant based on the XZ+ model. Key highlights include:

  • Exclusive Red & Dark Grey dual-tone paint
  • Blacked-out roof, ORVMs, and badging
  • 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels with red accents
  • Red contrast stitching on seats, steering wheel, and gear knob
  • Leatherette upholstery with premium finish

The Red Dark Edition is designed for young, style-conscious buyers who want a sportier, more aggressive look without compromising on features.

Powertrain and Pricing

The Nexon continues with its familiar powertrain options:

  • Petrol: 1.2L Turbo Revotron engine (120 PS, 170 Nm)
  • Diesel: 1.5L Revotorq engine (115 PS, 260 Nm)
  • Electric: Nexon EV (up to 465 km range)

ADAS is currently available only on the petrol and diesel XZ+ (O) variants, priced from ₹11.49 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The Red Dark Edition is priced at ₹11.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

Why This Update Matters

With this update, Tata Motors is setting a new benchmark in the compact SUV segment. Level 2 ADAS was previously unavailable in this price range, giving the Nexon a competitive edge over rivals like the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.

Moreover, the Red Dark Edition adds emotional appeal, tapping into the growing demand for personalized, head-turning designs.

Availability

The updated Nexon with ADAS and the Red Dark Edition is now available for booking via Tata Motors’ official website and dealerships across India. Deliveries are expected to begin by November 2025.

As safety and personalization become key decision factors for Indian buyers, the Tata Nexon’s latest upgrades make it a compelling choice in its segment.
